This project describes the evolvement of robotics in healthcare and allied areas with special concerns relating to the management and control of the spread of the novel corona virus COVID-19. The prime utilization of such robots is to minimize person-to-person contact and to ensure cleaning and sterilization. The smart disinfection robot has been designed for indoor environments. This robot will be using water storage with anti-infection solution which will be pumped by using a water pump motor and sprayed by fog spray nozzle which will help to disinfect the environment. At the same time, ultra violet light source is used to further enhance the disinfection function. The proposed model has two vertical mount 12V DC motor of 100 rpm, where two mops are attached to it which will clean the floor and a dust collector will be attached to collect the dust and other particles. We have a complete digital design of this system which is jointly developed with Siemens CoE in Manufacturing, NIT, Trichy.
